The All-Ireland Dance Inter-varsities event has been taking place all over the country for 20 years. Each year, one university’s dance society organises and hosts the event. 2024 was the biggest the competition has ever been, with up to 13 universities participating.
This is a brand identity design for next year’s All-Ireland Dance Intervarsities event that will be hosted by the TU Dublin Dance Society. The goal of this project is to create a vibrant and engaging brand identity that shows the essence of the event, resonates with the target audience and boosts attendance.
The dot formations in the brand identity are inspired by choreography notes from my experience with the Dance Society, with each dot representing a dancer’s position. This symbolises the meticulous planning and collective effort inherent in dance. By juxtaposing these structured dot formations with candid documentary photography, the brand aims to highlight the contrast between the raw, behind-the-scenes experiences of dancers and the disciplined artistry behind them.
