The project involved designing a journal for post-cancer patients to aid in their recovery and daily life management. This book, published by the Health Service Executive (HSE), allows patients to document their progress, set goals and reflect on their journey. It also serves as a medical tool to maintain a health record for consultations with healthcare professionals.
The cover features a purple ribbon, symbolising cancer awareness, held by two hands—one representing the patient and the other the health professional. This imagery emphasises the ongoing support and care patients receive even after being cured.
Each page is designed to resemble a health record, providing a sense of continuity and shows the importance of ongoing health monitoring. Roboto and Span typefaces were chosen for readability and warmth. The handmade feel of the illustrations throughout the journal adds warmth, making it feel like a cherished companion rather than clinical tool.
